Holden Central Elementary School is committed to being a community-based school by hosting programs for area youth regardless of where they are enrolled for their education.  Such programs include Cub Scouts for boys and girls in grades kindergarten through fifth grade.  HCES partners with Logan Buddy League Basketball to provide practice and game facilities.

Recently, HCES received grants from the Logan County Commission and the Being Present Matters program to expand the work of our parent engagement specialist to provide family and community support with food and clothing banks.  Our parent engagement specialist works closely with Logan County Schools Director of the McKinney-Vento Program to aid students experiencing inadequate housing or homelessness.  Through former McKinney-Vento funding, HCES is able to offer students shower and laundry facilities.  Students may access these facilities upon request.

Holden Central Elementary School invites community members and families to view our Strategic Plan and be involved in our various councils for school improvement.  In addition to continuously striving to improve instruction and educational experiences, we love our community and hope to be a source of inspiration and support for all.  We can only achieve our goals with active family and community engagement.
